“i thank You God for most this amazing” was commissioned by Mary Hale. She requested the specific instrumentation. I myself have always been partial to the cello and plan to take it up. In writing this piece, I sought to capture the sense of joy, abandon and pure love of nature which is so beautifully expressed by a master poet.
